Gurutze Frades, test before the world championship at IRONMAN 70.3 Cozumel  

The Spanish triathlete Gurutze Frades prepares for the great objective of the year, the IRONMAN World Championship from Kona. 

But first he will participate this weekend in the IRONMAN 70.3 Cozumel as part of your preparation.  

Gurutze will try to achieve victory again in this same test after having took the title last year and secure her place at the Kona 2023 World Cup, the Basque athlete is more determined than ever to prove her worth. 

This test will be used by Guru as test to fine-tune your strategy for Kona, evaluating their preparation and thus being able to make any adjustments for the World Cup. 

The competition will be fierce, with athletes like Sarah Crowley y Hannah Berry in the departure list. 

Circuit Details 

  • Swimming: The distance to swim in this stage is 1.9 kilometers. 
  • Cycling: The cycling stage offers a flat, completely paved route of 90 kilometers. 
  • Race on foot: The last stage is a 21.1 kilometer foot race that is also completely flat and paved. The circuit passes through several of Cozumel's most iconic sites, including its boardwalk, downtown's main plaza, and historic neighborhoods. 

 Schedule 

The female professional career, where Gurutze Frades will be one of the protagonists, will start at 6:33 am with white swimming caps at the starting line in Chankanaab Park.  

Just a few minutes later, at 6:40 am, age groups will have their own departure in waves from the same location.
