Javier Gómez Noya wins the Vigo half marathon  

The city of Vigo experienced an unforgettable sports day with the celebration of the Half Marathon, and the undisputed protagonist was Javier Gómez Noya. 

 The five-time triathlon world champion once again demonstrated his skill and endurance by winning this competition that attracted more than 1.300 entries. 

The race took place between O Vao beach and the As Avenidas promenade, a route that had the particularity of passing through the Beiramar tunnel.  

The start of the 21 kilometer test took place at 10:00 am in the vicinity of the Coruxo football field. From there, the runners faced a route designed by the Diesemm firm, organizer of the event. 

Javier Gómez Noya led the race and took the victory in the test, which he used as a “warm-up” for his Back to the ring" in South Africa at the IRONMAN 70.3 of Mossel Bay that will be held on November 19.  

Noya achieved victory with a time of  1:07:06 followed by Daniel Bargiela (1: 11: 44) and for Alvaro Marin (1: 13: 09).

In the female category, Silvia González (1:35:31) was the winner of the Half Marathon, followed by Ana Alonso (1:35:48) and Laura Gallego (1:38:14.)

Although the main race was the Half Marathon, the athletics day also included the 10K modality, called 'The 10.000 meters of Alejandro Gómez', in tribute to the late Vigo long-distance runner.  

Additionally, as a novelty, the 'Kids' modality was introduced, which began at 10:15 a.m. in As Avenidas with three different categories according to the ages of the participants.
