The preview of Club La Santa IRONMAN Lanzarote 2023

This coming Saturday, May 20, the XXXI edition of the Club La Santa IRONMAN Lanzarote  

In this edition more than 1.000 triathletes will participate to complete the 3,8 km swim, 180 km cycle and 42,2 km run.

Puerto del Carmen Both the swimming segment and the running race will once again be the center of the test.

As for the cycling segment, the triathletes will visit spectacular places, such as La Geria or the Mirador del Río, they will reach the north of the island and return to Puerto del Carmen.

Professionals

As for the professionals, this edition will have a great poster of triathletes. The 2023 edition will award 2 slots for each category

Notable among them is the presence of Sam Laidlow IRONMAN world runner-up in 2022, Cameron Wurf, Andreas Dreitz or the Spanish Jordi Montraveta,, Gonzalo Fuentes o Eneko Elosegui.

In the female category we find Alexandra Tondeur, Lydia dant among others.

Green Sports Flag

In terms of sustainability, IRONMAN Lanzarote will follow the example of IRONMAN 70.3 in March and will have GPS buoys in the swimming segment.

Since these types of buoys are not anchored to the seabed, they do not damage it and protect its biodiversity.

In addition, in the final stretch that leads to the finish line, LED screens will be used with the logos of the sponsors, thus avoiding the use of non-recyclable material.

Schedule

The test will begin at 7:00 AM, one more hour on the peninsula, with the male and female start, while the age groups will begin the competition at 7:20.
