The circuits of the Final of the Torremolinos-Andalucía 2024 World Championship published

The organization of the World Cup Final has made public all the circuits of this event that will take place in Torremolinos from October 17 to 20.

The Final of the Torremolinos-Andalucía 2024 Triathlon World Championship has made public all the circuits of this great event that will take place on October 17th to 20th in the town of Torremolinos.

After the previous publication of the routes of the Age Groups, the Championship makes official on this occasion, the routes of the rest of the tests.

Elite, SUB 23, Junior, Paralympic Triathlon and Junior/SUB 23 Mixed Relay and Paralympic Triathlon Mixed Relay.

Standard Elite and World Triathlon SUB 23

The Elite event, which will crown the Triathlon World champions in the highest category, will share exactly the same circuit as the U23 World Championship.

The swimming will take place at Playa de los Álamos with a distance of 1,5 km in two laps.

After the water, the first transition will take place that will begin the cycling segment, made up of 40,8 km in which Drafting will be allowed, on an eight-lap urban circuit of +/- 46 meters of gradient per lap.

After the bike, there will be the second transition and the 10 km running segment, all along the Paseo Marítimo de Torremolinos. These last 10.000 meters will be run on a four-lap circuit of +/- 18 meters of elevation gain per lap, always with views of the sea. 

World Junior Sprint Triathlon

The test will start with the swimming segment at Playa de los Álamos with a distance of 750 meters in just one lap.

Next, after the first transition, the cycling segment will begin, consisting of 20,4 km in which Drafting will be allowed on a four-lap urban circuit of +/- 46 meters of gradient per lap.

And the 5 km foot race will also be held entirely on the Paseo Marítimo de Torremolinos with two laps of +/- 18 meters of elevation gain per lap, always with views of the sea. 

Paralympic Sprint Triathlon World Championship

Starting at Playa de los Álamos, the swim will consist of 750 meters, carried out in a single lap.

The transition will begin the second segment, which will be held on a 20,4 km urban circuit without Drafting, with 4 laps with +/- 46 meters of gradient per lap.

And the final point, the third segment, 5 km along the Paseo Marítimo de Torremolinos in a two-lap circuit of +/- 18 meters of gradient per lap, always with views of the sea. 

Mixed Relay SUB 23/Junior

This test will begin with the swimming segment that will consist of 250 meters in one lap at Playa de los Álamos.

After the first transition, the time will come when the triathletes will get on the bike to face a 5 km urban circuit in a single lap with +/- 50 meters of elevation gain in which Drafting will be allowed.

Next, and after the second transition, it is time for the foot race, 1,5 km in a single lap along the Paseo Marítimo de Torremolinos, with a perfect panoramic view of the sea. 

Paralympic Triathlon Mixed Relay

A quarter of a kilometer, 250 meters therefore, will make up the swimming segment, which will be located at Playa de los Álamos.

At the exit from the water, the first transition will give way to the second segment, 3,8 km on a single-lap urban circuit, with +/- 32 meters of gradient per lap, in which Drafting will not be allowed.

. The test will end with the third segment, a single lap, which will have the particularity that it will be 900 meters for the first three relays and 1,2 km for the fourth and last relay.

This third segment will once again take place on the Paseo Marítimo de Torremolinos, with unbeatable views of the sea and +/-10 meters of elevation difference per lap. 

Sprint Triathlon Age Groups

The swim will take place at Playa de los Álamos to complete a distance of 750 meters in one lap.

The transition to the bicycle will be located about 370 meters from the water, to begin the cycling segment, of 20 kilometers in which Drafting will be allowed, and which will take place in two laps along an urban circuit and highway with +/- 125 meters of unevenness per lap and ending in the vicinity of the Paseo Marítimo de Torremolinos, where the entire 5-kilometer race is run on foot, always with views of the sea.

Standard Triathlon Age Groups

Also at Playa de los Álamos the swimming segment will take place in the Standard distance with a single lap of 1,5 kilometers.

The first transition is again at 370 meters, where the triathletes will get on the bike to begin the second segment, 40 kilometers without Drafting on an urban circuit and on a 3-lap highway with +/- 172 meters of elevation gain. return, heading south to the limit with the city of Benalmádena

. The second transition will be located again next to the Paseo Marítimo, to begin the foot race, which will also be run entirely along the Paseo, with a 5-kilometer route in two laps, heading south until reaching the height of the Casa de Los Navajas, an emblematic mansion in Torremolinos located in the heart of Bajondillo. 

Aquabike Standard Age Groups

  The circuit will be the same as the Standard Distance except for the running segment.

That is, starting from the swimming in Plata de los Álamos with a 1,5 kilometer route in just one lap, transition to the bicycle, and a 40 kilometer cycling segment without Drafting in 3 laps with +/- 172 meters of unevenness per lap.

Mixed Relay Age Groups

Swimming at Playa de los Álamos will be 250 meters in a single lap, and the transition will be made (located 370 meters from the water) to cycling.

The cycling section will consist of a small 6-kilometer urban and highway circuit, also a single lap of +/- 63 meters of elevation gain in which Drafting will be permitted.

At the end of the bike, the second transition will be made in the vicinity of the Paseo at the height of Playa de los Álamos to face the last kilometer and a half of the race on foot, always running along the Paseo Marítimo de Torremolinos that will end the test.

  • Sunday 20 October; Men's Elite Test and Junior/SUB 23 Mixed Relay, Age Group Mixed Relay and Paratriathlon Mixed Relay.
