San Francisco Joins the PTO T100 Tour

The city of San Francisco, known for Alcatraz Island and its views of the bay, has been chosen to host the T100 Triathlon World Tour, as announced yesterday by the PTO.

The test will be held on June 8 and 9, under the usual distance of these 100km races where the 20 best male and female professional triathletes in the world will compete.

El San Francisco T100, will begin with a jump into the cold waters next to Alcatraz.

 Sam renouf, CEO of the Professional Triathletes Organization (PTO), highlights the importance of including this legendary triathlon as one of the eight stops on the tour, considering it a great achievement for the organization.

Marisol Married, President of World Triathlon and member of the IOC, celebrates this collaboration as a significant milestone for World Triathlon, confident that this event will serve as a perfect location to host another major triathlon event in 2024, taking another step in the promotion of this sport.

Notable participants include Ben Kanute, four-time Escape From Alcatraz winner, and Emma Pallant Browne, champion in 2021 and current number 10 in the PTO ranking.

Beyond professional competition, the event will also offer racing opportunities for age groups, which are expected to number more than 2.000.

The T100 Triathlon World Tour 2024 continues with events in Miami, Singapore, London, Ibiza, Lake Las Vegas, Dubai and will culminate with the Grand Final at the end of November, where the triathlon world champions of this new competition will be known.
