Everything prepared for the Spanish Duathlon Championship Avilés 2024

This coming April 7, the city of Avilés becomes the epicenter of the national duathlon with the celebration of the Spanish Duathlon Championship 2024.

With almost a thousand athletes ready to take to the streets and routes of Avilés, the championship promises to be a spectacle of tenacity, strategy and passion for duathlon.

A weekend full of emotions

The event promises to be a weekend full of excitement and spectacle, with almost a thousand participants competing in different categories.

 On Saturday, April 6, the Age Group categories will face the Sprint and Standard distances, while the little ones will be able to enjoy the circuit Pho3nix Kids Triathlon Series by Javier Gómez Noya, an initiative that promotes the practice of sports from childhood.

The elite competition, which will be held on Sunday, April 7, will be marked by the absence of two prominent figures: Iván Gil, defending champion, will not be able to participate due to injury, and Urko Herran another favorite.

Regarding the women's race, María Varo, champion in 2023, is one of the favorites.

A demanding circuit

The participants will face a circuit that runs through the historic center of Avilés

 The Plaza de España will be the starting and finishing point of the races.

The circuits, designed to challenge athletes and delight spectators, run through the historic center of Avilés and its most emblematic natural landscapes.

Schedule

The action begins on Saturday, April 6 at 12:00 p.m. with the first race of the circuit Pho3nix Kids Triathlon Series in charge of Javier Gómez Noya, where the future duathlon stars will have their moment of glory.

Next, at 14:00 p.m., it will be the turn of the Age Groups, who will compete in the Standard distance, demonstrating that the passion for this sport transcends all ages.

But Sunday is when the tension reaches its peak with the elite competitions
