Full statement

Professional sportsmen

Professional athletes and athletes qualified by the Higher Sports Council as athletes of high level or of national interest, may carry out training individually, outdoors, within the limits of the province in which the athlete resides.

The cyclists who are in this catalog will be able to carry out their training sessions with these conditions as of May 4:

a) They will be able to freely access the natural spaces they require to develop their sporting activity.

b) The duration and schedule of training will be necessary for the proper maintenance of the sports form.

c) The interpersonal safety distance will be ten meters when training is carried out.

d) A person who performs the work of coach may attend the training sessions, whenever necessary and who maintains the appropriate social distancing and hygiene measures.

d) The sufficient accreditation contemplated in the norm is the sports license.

It is recommended that athletes qualified by the Higher Sports Council as high-level athletes or of national interest carry the certificate issued by the CSD and professional athletes have a responsible statement from their company or team that certifies that they comply with Royal Decree 1006 / 1985, of June 26.

e) Athletes in the adapted cycling modality belonging to this group may be accompanied by another athlete to carry out their sports activity, if this is unavoidable.

In this case, the interpersonal safety distances will be reduced as necessary for sports practice, both masks must be used, and the measures deemed appropriate to guarantee personal hygiene will be applied.

Other Federated Athletes

Those federated cyclists who are not in the group of professional athletes, or those recognized by the CSD as being of high level or of national interest, may carry out training under the following conditions:

a) They will be able to carry out training sessions individually, in outdoor spaces, twice a day, between 6:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. and between 20:00 p.m. and 23:00 p.m., and within the limits of the municipal term in which they have their residence.

b) They will be able to freely access the natural spaces they require to develop their sporting activity.

c) They must respect the interpersonal safety distance of 10 meters.

d) The presence of coaches or other auxiliary personnel during training is not allowed.

e) The sports license will be enough to prove being a federated athlete.

f) In the case of federated athletes who practice the adapted cycling modality, they may count on the accompaniment of another athlete to carry out their sports activity, if this is unavoidable.

In this case, the interpersonal safety distances will be reduced as necessary for sports practice, both masks must be used, and the measures deemed appropriate to guarantee personal hygiene will be applied.

Children under 14 and over 70 are not specified

The published Order regulates federated athletes and does not specify the situation of minors under 14 years of age, nor those over 70 years of age, so we will carry out the pertinent consultations to clarify whether they can train under the conditions of this order published on the 3rd of may.

We appreciate the collaboration and civility that the cycling community has shown during this weekend and we urge you to continue to respect the regulations and to collaborate with the authorities.

We will continue to wait until the rest of the proposals made to the authorities in our previous statement can be addressed as soon as possible due to the evolution of the pandemic.
