The date for the Pontevedra 2025 Multisport Championships

A World Triathlon Festival

In June 2025, the city of Pontevedra will become the epicenter of world triathlon, hosting the World Multisport Triathlon Championships from the 20th to the 29th of that month.

This event, which returns to Pontevedra after its successful edition in 2019, will once again attract athletes and spectators from all corners of the planet.

The choice of Pontevedra is not a coincidence; This Galician city is well known for its strong link with triathlon, being the home of the five-time world champion Javier Gomez Noya.

The championship will include disciplines such as duathlon, long-distance triathlon, long-distance aquabike, aquathlon, cross triathlon and cross duathlon, organized in a festival that will last a full week.

Marisol Married, President of World Triathlon and member of the IOC, and José Hidalgo, President of the Spanish Triathlon Federation, have expressed their enthusiasm and confidence in Pontevedra as their headquarters, highlighting the city's commitment to triathlon and its ability to organize world-class events.

Since their debut on the World Triathlon calendar in 2017, the Multisport World Championships have grown in prestige and popularity.

Although the COVID-19 pandemic was a challenge, the organization's adaptability and resilience allowed the event to continue at different venues, demonstrating the strength and unity of the triathlete community.

With preparations already underway, the coming months are expected to bring more details on the competition schedule, registration processes and a variety of cultural and recreational activities that will further enrich this triathlon festival.
