August, the month of the return of the athletics competitions in France

The French Athletics Federation has published the  new calendar with the competitions that will take place this summer in the neighboring country.

They have "condensed" between the end of August and the end of October due to the current Covid-19 crisis

From August 29 to October 31, about 19 national events will be offered to those federated who have met the qualification conditions.

The highlight of this new calendar, the French elite championships will be held, together with the espoir championships, on September 12 and 13 at the Albi municipal stadium.

In the statement on their website, they comment

The French Athletics Federation always, from the beginning of this health crisis, has worked to maintain a schedule of summer competitions and avoid a white season for our athletes”, explains André Giraud, president of the FFA.

As well we have examined all our structures in this sense: clubs, departmental committees and regional leagues; It seemed that the vast majority of members of the French athletics family shared this desire.

Summer competitions are indeed part of the DNA of our sport; Today, therefore, I am delighted to be able ooffer these various meetings to all our athletes and all age categories

 This calendar is in line with the latest directives issued by the Prime Minister and the Minister of Sports, with whom we collaborate daily.
