Success in the celebration of the Gran Triathlon Madrid

Last Saturday and Sunday the most massive competition of the Madrid triathlon took place, and one of the most numerous in the national triathlon.

With 2600 participants, the celebration of the Great Triathlon Madrid It was a success in all aspects, with a volume of popular athletes who have formed a Great #AcTRIvaCommunity around the test.

On Friday, the runner's fair and the delivery of bib numbers were in full swing to welcome the athletes who came for the participation material and to obtain information about the competition.

On Saturday, the day began at 8 in the morning with the elite competition that was a qualifier for the Spanish Sprint Triathlon Championship.

First the men's competition started and five minutes later the women's competition.

There was excitement from the swimming segment until the last moment, with a great level of athletes to get the 30 places that were for the Spanish Championship to be held in Águilas on September 16 and 17.

Won the women's test Mª Teresa Jimenez-Orta, from the Saltoki Trikideak; followed by Lauren Dickson from Tri Infinity Móstoles and Sara Alemany, from the University of Alicante; and the masculine John Gonzalez, ahead of Iván Gil and Lukas Juranek, all from Diablillos de Rivas.

The competitive program continued at 8:30 in the morning with the 6 starts of the popular sprint competition, to continue at 9:00 with the 4 starts of the standard competition and finished at 12:30 with the 3 starts of the super sprint competition.

In the afternoon, the youngest athletes competed in the incredible setting of the Casa de Campo, beginning with the cadet and youth events, and in descending order for infants and juveniles, ending with the non-competitive benjamín and prebenjamín events.

In addition to the athletes who competed, throughout the day the Casa de Campo was filled with fans who came to see their families. A massive public attendance that gave an excellent atmosphere to the competitions.

On Sunday, the team time trial competition took place, in which the first participants to start were the popular non-federated teams to continue with the federated teams and finish with the Madrid Championship, in which the best clubs were the Diablillos de Rivas in both women's and men's competition, the Carabanchel Triathlon and the Marlins Triathlon Madrid completing the women's podium and the Tri Infinity Móstoles and the 401 Triathlon for men.

Both days of competition passed without incident and the competitors were able to feel part of the Madrid triathlon party, the Gran Triatlón Madrid.

This competition would not be possible without the collaboration of the Community of Madrid through the General Directorate of Sports, which collaborates in the different events of the Gran Triathlon Madrid as a joint initiative with the Madrid Triathlon Federation in order to promote the sport of triathlon.

This event has attracted triathletes from the region, Spain and internationally and once again makes Madrid a nerve center for triathlon, a sport that is attracting more and more followers.

Once again, the Community of Madrid is a benchmark as a venue for all kinds of sporting events, from grassroots sports to the highest level of sports.
