Gómez Noya wins the US Professional Championship

Gómez Noya has managed to revalidate the title won in the 2012.

Javier Gómez Noya has fulfilled the forecasts and has won today in Des Moines (Iowa) el US professional championship, in the same distances as the Olympic but with the cyclist segment without a platoon.

He already achieved this title in the same place in 2012 and has fulfilled his role as favorite, sentencing in the phase on foot against triathletes more accustomed to riding a bike individually but who does not have the level of Spanish in the pedestrian 10km.

 Noya already led in the swimming phase, in which he took almost 30 seconds to the following ones. By bike he was overtaken by several of them - some of them old acquaintances of the World Series circuit - but by not losing more than a minute when arriving at the 2ª transition he overtook them on foot as planned. Yes the veteran Hunter Kemper (winner for example in the World Cup in Madrid back in 2003) sold his face expensive and Javi had to use it thoroughly to catch up: "the triathlon has gone more or less as planned; I already counted on being in the water ahead and being overcome by someone on a bike. These triathletes go as solo shots on the plain and burn their ships there. It was about not losing more than two minutes to reach the end of cycling and so be able to climb on foot. The truth is that Hunter Kemper has run very fast and I had to work hard to catch him. Then I have already limited myself to maintain the advantage since the goal was victory, not take much time to the next".

 A victory that brings 100.00 dollars, the biggest prize in the triathlons of this distance in the world - and at the level of Hawaii Ironman- although it has suffered a good reduction compared to the amount of previous editions.

On Sunday, Javier will be flying to Spain to train in his usual area of ​​Pontevedra ahead of the World Series final in London on September 15 in which the world title will be played - a single card given the equality in the ranking previous- in front of the Brownlee brothers.
