2.500 triathletes will take Calella at the IRONMAN Barcelona

The Spanish Clemente Alonso and Miquel Blanchart favorites for victory.

 

 

The next 5 in October will be the first edition of the IRONMAN Barcelona where the triathletes will have to face 3,8 kilometers of swimming, 180 of cycling and 42,2 of running through the Maresme area.

 

This year this test has achieved the record of participation with a total of 2.500 participants almost doubling those registered last year.

 

As far as the elite is concerned, in the male category the big favorites are the Spanish Clemente Alonso y Miquel BlanchartGermans Michael Goehner y Konstantin Bachor, the Portuguese Sergio Marques, The dutch Bas Diederen and British Joe Skipper.

 

Iván Alvárez, Antonio Aguilar, Enric Gussinyer, Alejandro Jímenez, Eduardo Crooke, Fernando Cuenllas, Jose Manuel Ortega are the rest of the Spanish participation

 

In the female category the Austrian Eva Wutti and the Germans Anja Beranek, Daniela Sämmler, Beate Goertz y Evi Neuscheler They are the ones with the best chance of winning. Anna Rovira will be the Spanish trick in this category
