Judith Corachán one of the great joys of Spanish triathlon

In her first season as a professional the Catalan has not stopped growing career by race with a spectacular end of season.

Judith Corachán It has been one of the great joys of the Spanish triathlon at 2015. She started her season at the 70.3 in Aix en Provence in France, after several seasons without any Spanish PRO in the IM 70.3 circuit, Judith has been a pioneer this year ... with the great joy that several of the best girls of the Spanish MD are also have encouraged to run on PRO at this distance later. In her first season as a professional the Catalan has not stopped growing career by race with a spectacular end of season.

- Hello Judith, good morning, how are you? Congratulations for the great season you have completed culminating with the title of LD Spain champion. After a brilliant 2014, especially with the subchampionship of Spain MD struggling face to face with Aida Valiño, and then winning in the Half of Berga. How did you make the decision to compete in PRO at 2015? Who encouraged you to take this step?

Hello, my coach suggested it to me, to my surprise. I had neither raised it nor was very focused on the subject since it was when it began to emerge at this distance. But he trusts me and I trust him, so as soon as he proposed it, I told him that if he saw it well, go ahead!

This 2015 scored for the WITL club. What has helped to be in this team to grow sports during 2015?

In many aspects. Not only at a sporting level, everyone knows that competing is expensive, traveling, licenses ... and the club has helped me with expenses and licenses. But also on a personal level, in the good atmosphere that there is in the group, from the proponents of the team such as triathletes and athletes and that is highly valued.

They have also helped me get sponsors to let people know me, to spread my image and grow in media and social networks.

You debuted in IM 70.3 as PRO in Aix en Provence What memories do you have of this race?

Not very good! I knew that the debut would be demanding and very different from competing here in Spain where you are ahead fighting for the podium but it was a totally solo race without references, without feeling competitive at any time. The result was not bad but I did not feel very comfortable.

Subsequently, you shone in the national calendar, with good performances in 70.3 Barcelona, Bilbao Triathlon and Zarautz. Can you summarize these races a bit?

Well, after the bad feelings of France at the 70.3 in Barcelona, things changed. Although I did not enter the top 10 if I could make a more competitive race and fighting with my rivals throughout the race. And after that beginning of the season at an international level and with results far from the podium, the Basque Country races arrived.

I enjoyed the two very much, the atmosphere, the leveling that was in both ... and obviously for my results and release me with the podium this season.

After the summer break, 3 possibly come from the best competitions of your career. Historic podium at the 70.3 in Budapest and Half in Berga How did you feel in these competitions?

It was the three very good races. The truth is that every time I felt better physically and it showed in the results. The podium in Budapest It was surprising and an injection of confidence for the rest of the season. In Berga I wanted to repeat the title and I got it! It was not the victory but the domination of the race from start to finish with a wide advantage.

And finally Ibiza ... LD Spain champion dominating the competition from the beginning Can you summarize your career?

I came with great confidence and a remarkable progression during the season but I knew that there were many rivals and that the 30km on foot would be decisive. Being my weak point, I had to go all out and try to take advantage in the first two sectors.

Although it was the idea, I did not think that I was going to escape alone from the beginning and that I was going to expand the advantage by feeling so comfortable on my bike. I went down to run with the confidence that I could win and that the advantage was unimaginable. I suffered but I enjoyed savoring the dream title and what I was getting! Amazing! A very nice race for me because my family was also there cheering.

Looking to 2016, what will be your goals?

I do not have a predetermined goal. Simply keep growing as an athlete and keep strengthening in Media Distancia, both nationally and internationally.

- What sponsors have you counted with this year ... and what's new for 2016?

This year I have had my club WITL obviously, with Isostar, Alimmenta (nutritionists), Laica and Portubienestar.com, Sailfish, Briko, Xwin (socks) and Afit (physio).

For this 2016 I continue to count on the support of my WITL club and with the same brands as the previous season except Isostar. This coming year I will count on the collaboration of Recuperat-ion experts in sports nutrition and muscular hydration and with the help of Sergi Font and the Kronos pharmacy for sports supplementation.

Also Speedsix will provide me with wheels to train and compete. At the moment I do not have a bike ... if someone were interested I would be delighted if they would contact me.

And to end the interview Do you have any special thanks in this, your first season as a PRO?

Yes. To my trainer Álvaro Rancé for helping me achieve what I have achieved. To all people and brands that have helped me and trusted me. To my friends with whom I share training and good moments that make me enjoy what I do.

And especially my family for always supporting me and my partner, Javi, who is with whom I share my training, my injuries, my fears, my nerves, my triumphs ... he has been my amulet this year! And I hope it continues to be! Hehehe

Thank you very much Judith, a real pleasure to have been able to share this little bit with the readers of Triathlon News, we wish you the best for 2016, you deserve it.

Thank you!
