Kristian Blummenfelt will not race in Nice 

The world of triathlon is preparing for one of the most anticipated events of the year: the IRONMAN World Championship where for the first time in 40 years it will be held in two different venues. 

However, a piece of news has surprised the sports community: Kristian Blummenfelt, IRONMAN champion in 2021 will not compete in the Nice World Cup this Sunday despite being in Nice.  

Despite having shared a photo in hall of fame located on the seafront in Nice, the Norwegian does not appear in the latest star list and in an email sent by his Sponsor On Running, he has confirmed that he will not participate and that he will focus on the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. 

In the same line, Gustav Iden, IRONMAN world champion, has also announced thatand will not participate in any competition for the rest of the year. 

2.200 triathletes in the World Cup

On September 10, Nice, France will become the epicenter of triathlon welcoming more than 2.200 athletes from around the world.  

Notable participants include Jan Frodeno, Patrick Lange, Sam Laidlow, Joe Skipper y Magnus ditlev among others. 

The Norwegians protagonists in a short

Both athletes, renowned for their camaraderie and training together, are in Nice to film “TriKings”, an animated short sponsored by shoe brand ON Running.  

This short, which portrays both athletes as Viking warriors, will be released soon and promises to be a tribute to their friendship and dedication to the sport.
