Víctor del Corral wins the Lanzarote Ironman 70.3

He was accompanied on the podium by the British Will Clarke and the Italian Domenico Passuello

 

In the female category, Poland managed to win Agnieszka Jerzyk. To the hardness of a competition of this kind, the heat that accompanied the participants all morning, with temperatures around the 30º under the characteristic sun of the island of Lanzarote, was added.

 

 

Today the short version of the Ironman, the ironman 70.3, was held on the island of Lanzarote. More than 600 triathletes have participated in the test where Víctor del Corral , winner of the Ironman Lanzarote in 2012, has achieved victory with a time of 4 hours and 6 minutes, followed by the English Wil Clarke y Domenico Passuelo in third position
 

In the women's category we saw a very exciting race, with a final to the sprint that took the Polish Jerzyk, in 04: 39: 48, with something less than a second away from the winner of the last edition, the Dutch Danne Boterenbrood that stopped the chrono in 04: 40: 44. The third was the British Hignett with 04: 43: 33.

 

This test that runs over medium distance, where the triathletes have been thrown into the lagoon, located in La Santa, to complete 1900 meters of swimming, followed by  a hard bike route through the difficult geography rabbit hut, ending with 21 kilometers of race through the municipality of Tinajo.
