Official presentation of ICAN Málaga 2014

The City Council of Malaga was the scene on Tuesday of the official presentation of the ICAN Málaga 2014, which will be played next Sunday 27 in April.

An event that was attended by Mr. Javier Imbroda, representing the City Council, Mr. Sunil Bhardwaj, ICAN Triathlon Series CEO, Mr. Carlos Novoa, triathlon delegate in Málaga, and Mr. Ernesto Marín, representing of the Opel dealers in the capital of Malaga.

All of them highlighted the importance of having an international event that will leave some revenues at the close to two million euros. It was also reminded that more than 40 percent of the participants are foreigners and that the second edition of ICAN Malaga will be around the 900 participants.

The presentation was also attended by some of the leading triathletes who will meet next Sunday, in the case of Basque Eneko Llanos, long distance world champion, or from Malaga Victorian Rasso.

In this second edition the test changes the scenario and moves to Playa de la Misericordia, where the swimming sector will be held over a distance of 1,9 km. Subsequently, participants must complete 90 kilometers in two laps to a circuit with departure and arrival on Pacific Avenue. Finally, the stretch of the race on foot will be made in four laps along the Paseo Antonio Machado, until completing the 21 km.

In addition, along with the Half distance, there will also be a test ICAN 57 in the same scenarios and with the distances: 1,9 km of swimming, 45 km of bike and 10 km of running race.

The departure of the participants is scheduled for the 8 in the morning and the awards ceremony will take place at the 16: 30 hours at the Real Club Mediterráneo.

On the other hand, and within the program of activities surrounding the ICAN Málaga 2014, this Thursday there will be a 'master class' with Eneko Llanos with the Go-Fit sports center. Also on Friday there will be different conferences at the Real Club Mediterráneo, and throughout Friday and Saturday you can visit the ICAN-Trishow Fair, at the 1 dock in the port of Malaga.
