Spain, fourteenth in the Mixed Relay Triathlon World Championship

Spain has completed its participation in the Mixed Relay Triathlon World Championship at the 14ª plaza. The competition was held in the German town of Hamburg on the afternoon of Sunday 13 in July.

 

 

Disputed over distance supersprint, the Spanish team has been formed by Carolina Routier, Javier Gómez Noya, Ainhoa ​​Murua y Mario Mola. Each component had to make a first stretch of swimming 300 m by the Alster lake, followed by 6,6 km cyclists crossing the center of Hamburg to finish with 1,6 km of running on foot before giving the turn.

 

The Spanish team has not had their day in Germanic lands, and after the first relief has been very far from the first places. In spite of this, all the components have worked hard, striving to reduce distances; to finally reach the 14ª position.

 

After the triumphs of 2011 and 2012, the British team which featured Lucy Hall, Jonathan Brownlee, Vicky Holland and Alistair Brownlee, has returned to the top of the podium. Notable performance of the British team, highlighting Jonathan Brownlee who managed to link with the leading group during the second relay. For his part, Holland remained in the top positions and the oldest of the Brownlees faced Vincent Luis in the last relay in an intense dispute, in which the York triathlete would win, giving Great Britain a new title of the modality .

 

Behind, the French Cassandre Beaugrand, Dorian Coninx, Audrey Merle and Vincent Luis reached the second place. While the representatives of Hungary, Sofia Kovacs, Tamas Toth, Margit Vanek and Akos Vanek won the bronze medal.
