With the launch of the Garmin Edge 1000, the firm offers us a device that becomes a brain connected to all the parameters that surround the activity of cycling. In the generous touch screen of 3 inches of the new Edge 1000 we can see with great detail all the parameters of our physical activity, such as speed, cadence, power, distance traveled, heart rate or GPS location.

 

In addition, for road cyclists, the new Garmin Edge 1000 will also be able to show the ratio of changes we are using if we are the lucky owners of a Shimano Di2 electronic gearbox. As if this were not enough, the device will also be able to connect to the Garmin VIRB video cameras, showing on its screen what the camera lens focuses on. Very interesting in terms of, for example, improving the safety of cyclists when they roll on the road.

 

 

As is usual in this type of devices, the screen layout will be vertical, but it can also be placed in an oblique manner thanks to an internal position sensor. Another ambient light sensor will adjust the brightness and contrast of the screen to the conditions that are required at any time, with a very considerable autonomy of use, reaching fifteen hours of uninterrupted operation.
