Garmin's new bet: Forerunner® 620

Essential for all runners, they provide data as necessary as distance, pace and heart rate. To which the Forerunner® 620 model also adds the maximum oxygen volume estimation thanks to the integration of the VO2 max system

The most advanced model of the two is Garmin Forerunner® 620, a team that stands out for its intuitive use, since it presents a touch screen for which you just need to touch or drag your finger to record absolutely all the details of a race. In addition, given their great sensitivity, you can do even with the gloves on.

The importance of oxygen

Many athletes, regardless of how long they have been running, want to know their physical shape and how it can be improved. For this, Forerunner® 620 exclusively includes the VO2 max system, which estimates the maximum volume of oxygen (in milliliters) that can be consumed per minute and per kilogram of body weight in the maximum yield. This indicator of aerobic capacity should increase as the physical condition improves.

Similarly, on the screen a color indicator shows the maximum oxygen consumption data compared to those of other runners of the same sex and age group of the user. Thus, depending on the maximum oxygen consumption estimate, the team can predict the race times for different distances, as well as provide a time objective for the next race, taking into account that the appropriate training has been completed.

And if it is combined with the new heart rate monitor HRM Run (included as standard in the version Foreruner® 620 HRM), is able to record data related to cadence, vertical oscillation and time of contact with the ground thanks to the accelerometer Which incorporates. These metrics are called race dynamics and influence the oxygen consumption during the activity.

On the other hand, the team also facilitates the recovery rate, that is, the real time of the user's recovery status in the first minutes of the race. This way, when the activity ends, it will show you how much time you should wait before starting another intense training session. In addition, the color codes of the indicator facilitate the interpretation of time: green means that it can be put into operation, while red recommends a recovery of more than three days.

The most complete data

Forerunner® 620 incorporates the function Virtual Partner®, thanks to which you can mark the workouts comparing the pre-established rhythm and that can be adjusted on the fly. And if the athlete exceeds or fails to meet the established limits, the device will alert you through warnings.

As a complement to a precise and controlled training, it also provides vibration alerts for time, distance and calories burned. In this way, when the watch detects that the targets have been reached, it emits a small vibration, which guarantees that the user will perceive it even if he does not hear it.

And to have the most complete guide about the evolution of the sessions, is able to store automatically up to 1000 turns. If the athlete prefers it, he can activate the Auto Lap® feature, which is responsible for automatically storing session data when it arrives at a predefined location or after a certain distance (for example, a kilometer). It is also possible to manually archive the total information of the race at the end of the training.

Lastly, Forerunner® 620 presents only a weight of 43 grams and is available in two color combinations: black with blue and white patterns with orange details.
