New Specialized Power saddle for triathlon.

The seat with the best blood flow in an aggressive position

The new saddle Specialized Power It has been designed for a very simple purpose: go faster with less hassle. Many cyclists, including some of the professional athletes sponsored by Specialized, complained of discomfort after spending prolonged periods in their more aggressive and aero positions, mostly clinging to the underside of the road handlebars.

After extensive tests and blood flow analysis, the Body Geometry Fit technicians concluded that the explanation of these discomforts was very simple and had to do with the characteristic forward rotation of the pelvis while pedaling in a more aggressive position.

Taking what Specialized learned with the Sitero saddle and borrowing design elements from the Phenom saddle and also the recess to improve the blood flow of the feminine saddles, the new Power saddle keeps cyclists more comfortable when they are in an aggressive position, allowing an optimal power transfer.

At first glance, the most remarkable of the saddle  Power is its shortest and extra wide tip, and its elongated Body Geometry slot (a totally different alternative to the traditional saddle shapes). However, the Power saddle is perfectly designed to provide adequate support for supporting bones and has better blood flow than any road seat in the aerodynamic position and gripped to the underside of the handlebar that we have never tested on Specialized. This means more power with less fatigue for longer periods of time.

Performance does not end with just the Features Body Geometry Fit. The base of the saddle has a new technology of construction of carbon and polymer. With the balance between its design focused on comfort and its construction based on performance, the Power saddle is the ideal option for cyclists who seek greater comfort while they are in a more aggressive position. Available in three width options (143 mm, 155 mm, 168 mm) and unisex design, the Power saddle fits any cyclist, man or woman, and we can even see it in the professional squad under Lars Boom of the Astana Pro Team and Evelyn Stevens of the Boels-Dolmans Cycling Team.

The new Specialized Power saddle will be available in S-Works, Pro, Expert and Comp versions by the end of April from 2015.
