Anais Tommy and Rafa Prado from CT Diablillos de Rivas, Champions of the Community of Madrid of Mid Distance Triathlon.

The Madrid town of Buitrago del Lozoya has once again been the epicenter of medium-distance triathlon. A test that ran through a spectacular setting, being the Community of Madrid Medium Distance Triathlon Championship and that this year also scored for the LD Spanish Cup, thus attracting the national elite once again.

Near 600 participants were scheduled to meet the 12.30 in the morning in the reservoir of Riosequillo to enjoy this spectacular circuit, which ran during its cycling segment around the towns bordering Buitrago del Lozoya, to finish with the race on foot in the vicinity of the town, where the best prize for these triathletes was to be able to taste the arrival to the finish line inside a medieval castle.

In the men's category, Mikel Blanchart, current Spanish sub-champion of medium distance triathlon and with a total time of 3: 56: 44 took first place on the podium, followed by Raúl Amatriain, current champion of Spain and Carlos López, third classified.

Once he reached the finish line, Blanchart offered these statements to the press "Despite running being my strong point, I suffered a lot from the heat and at times it was not clear to me that I could finish," the champion stated at the finish line, although he also recognized that " If you suffer a lot, it means that you have done well and have given everything you had”.

The winner of the last edition and one of the big favorites, Marcel Zamora, could not finish the race due to a problem with the bike in the cycling segment. The 5 times winner of the prestigious Ironman of Nice confessed his sadness for not having been able to finish this test "is a circuit that I love, for the landscapes and the city of Buitrago del Lozoya, I wanted to enjoy it but it could not be"

In the women's category, the victory went to Estefanía Gómez, with a time of 4:26:06, after leading the test from the first transition. Gurutze Frades and Anais Tommy, from the Madrid club CT Diablillos de Rivas, were her teammates on the podium.

During this day, Anais Tommy and Rafa Prado, from CT Diablillos de Rivas, were proclaimed Champions of the Madrid Community of Mid Distance Triathlon.

The female bronze of absolute proof, stays in Madrid. Anais Tommy, with his eternal smile, confessed to his arrival at the finish line "it was very hard, I had a lot of heat" while showing that he was very satisfied with the result and that he fought from start to finish.
