José Almagro will try to beat the Portuguese at home

At less than 10 days for the most important test of the Portuguese calendar, José Almagro captains the options of the Spanish Triathlon in Lisbon.

In front you will have a complicated race with the presence of Pedro Gomés and José Estrangeiro. Both triathletes are the best Portuguese tricks and will maintain their particular duel. The dominance of the last years in medium and long distance of Pedro Gomés in his country has been questioned by the arrival of the specialist in short José Estrangeiro.

Pedro Gomes keeps the favorite vitola after winning the Lisbon test in the 2011. He was also second in the Florida Ironman of the 2010 with a shocking 8.19 brand. His last victory took place at the recent ICAN in Marbella.

However, the premiere of José Estrangeiro in the middle distance opens the uncertainty by getting past Pedro Gomés this year in the Monte Gordo event. José Estrangeiro is a regular of the ITU and ETU circuit tests, as well as having been European Junior Duatlon Champion.

Against this background, José Almagro, winner of Tristart Madrid 2011, will have to play his tricks with the handicap of swimming, which will force him to a race against. Other candidates for the final podium will be the Danish Martin Wagner, Joensen Gudmundur from the Feore Islands and Reinaldo Oliveira from Brazil.

Open race in the women's event

The spectacular swimming enclosure will serve for Englishwoman Natalie Barnard to make her usual exhibition and launch her options for victory. Despite his youth, he already has international experience in the middle distance with two second places in the ICAN Mallorca and TriGrandPrix Ciboure in the 2011.

Another Englishwoman who will try to win is Alison Rowat, second in Lisbon at the 2011 and winner this year of age groups in Abu Dhabi.

Next to them will be the long distance Portuguese champion in the 2011 and runner-up of the European long distance in the age group 20-24, Vannesa Pereira.

Privileged environment

The Lisbon test is a triathlon that impacts from the arrival to the Boxes area. The Park of the Nations designed for the International Exhibition of 1998 is the privileged stage where a test of authentic luxury for the triathletes is developed.
