Daniel Unger and Camilla Pedersen win the Volcano Triathlon 2013

The German and world triathlon champion in 2007, Daniel Unger, and the Danish Camilla Pederson were imposed in the 28th edition of the Volcano Triathlon, which counted on the participation of 243 men and 70 women.

Unger, after finishing the swimming test in fifth position, started the segment of 40 kilometers of bicycle without finding anything at ease, so he decided to take things slowly, which finally allowed him to recover and arrive rested and in better shape to the athletic race.

The Spanish triathlon cross champion Roger Serrano instead gave everything on the bike, perhaps too much according to his own words, so Unger did not have many problems in overtaking him in the second round of the race on foot. The British Ritchie Nichols entered second, followed by the Spanish champion Roger SerranoWhile Bert Jammaer, who took this race as a training and pulse for the Ironman Lanzarote scheduled for next 18 in May, finished fourth.

Among the Canarians the best was Omar Delgado Cabrera, who finished tenth with 2h08.13, ahead of his teammate in the Tridente-Tinajo Miguel Ángel Duque, with 2h09.16. Thirteenth, third representative of the Islands, was Gabriel Alemán, with 2h09.36. There was also a regional presence in the top ten, with Lucía Funes, seventh (2h28: 30); Delioma González, eighth (2h30: 16) and Magalí Sabrina, tenth (2h35: 38).

In general, the Danish Camilla Pedersen led the test from start to finish, leaving Eimar Mullan y Bella Bayliss behind, which closed the podium.
