La Santa organizes the international duathlon of Lanzarote

The Club La Santa de Tinajo will organize this Saturday from the 10.00 the seventeenth edition of the International Duathlon of Lanzarote whose departure will take place in the stadium of this sports complex. The organization expects the participation of close to 200 athletes.

The start will be at the 10 in the morning for the men, in the stadium of Club La Santa, and five minutes later, it will be the turn of the women's category. This duathlon consists of five kilometers of running, 20 kilometers by bicycle (idea and return from La Santa to Famara) to finish with another lap of 2,5 kilometers on the athletic track of La Santa stadium.

In the last edition there were several triathletes of the international elite being the victory for the Frenchman Fred Belaubre, with a time of 00: 57: 04.

In the test this year, women will be the protagonists. The winner of the 2012, the German Jenny Schulz has confirmed his participation to defend his title. It is also expected the participation of several international triathletes in long distance, such as Eimear Mullan, (6ª in the Ironman 70.3 Lanzarote 2012 and winner of the Ironman in the United Kingdom) Heleen Bij de Vaate, Dutch elite in Ironman and the Canary Islands Patricia Díaz In the handcycle category will be the two-time Paralympic Rafa Botello
