The professionals bet on the International Triathlon of Portocolom

El Portocolom International Triathlon has managed to attract to date a large and interesting group of professional triathletes who will compete next 7 in April in one of the most attractive places in Mallorca and one of the first important events in Europe, under the 111 formats and 55.5.

El Triathlon by Portocolom 2013 will have international level triathletes for the 111 format like the Germans Andreas Dreitz (4º in 2012 in Portocolom), Till Schramm (3º in the TriStar Worms) and the young Matthias Epping, which has numerous victories in German mid-distance triathlons.

In addition, the Swedish Andreas Linden it is postulated as one of the favorites to victory, after getting on the podium in a TriStar race and recently winning the duathlon of Artá, a former professional cyclist with a lot of projection in the triathlon and to whom this format with only 1 km of swimming comes very good. Another former professional cyclist, Marcel Wüst, returns to compete in triathlon although at a less competitive level, but he can be the favorite triathlete to make the legendary climb to Sant Salvador faster. There are prizes for triathletes who achieve the best official times in this mini climbing chrono.

As for the Majorcans, they stand out Juan Antonio Fernández Pérez, current champion of the LD Triathlon Balearics, and absolute champion of the Open World Championship of Vitoria 2012 (dragging an injury that makes him doubt), and the triathlon revelation of the season in Mallorca: Joan Nadal, competing at first level in duathlon this season.

Among the females, the Dutch Mary Kerstens, the Danish Tine Holst, the Hungarian Zsuzsanna Harsanyi or the German Susan Blatt (4ª in the Ironman European Championship). The Austrian Bianca Steurer, for her part, will compete in the 55.5 format and is the clear favorite.

It is usual to see world stars of this sport in Portocolom, as in previous editions the victory has been played between such illustrious names as Chris Macca McCormack, Normann Stadler, Olivier Marceau, Andi Fuchs, Joerie Vansteelant, Philip Graves, Marcel Zamora, Alejandro Santamaría, Richard Calle, Lothar Leder, Eimear Mullan ...

Porto Colom It will be the scene again on April 7 of two medium distance events for the sixteenth consecutive year, after the internationalization of the event by TriStar. Now it is once again organized by the Club Triatló Portocolom and the Felanitx Town Hall

. Triathlon Portocolom assumes the 300 previously registered and low prices to make 60 € more popular for the 55.5 distance (500 swimming meters, 50 kilometers of cycling and 5 km of running, which replaces the traditional Olympic), and 110 € for the fun 111 format, consisting of 1 km of swimming, 100 km of cycling and 10 km of running.

The course of the Triathlon Portocolom 111 and 55.5 are the same, with the 111 participants making two laps of the 50 km cycling circuit and another two of the 5 km walking race by one of the 55.5 participants. Swimming will be in the harbor bay of Portocolom, to continue with a cycling tour that will take them to the spectacular climb to the mountain of Sant Salvador, known by thousands of triathletes and cyclists who visit Mallorca every year, with a height of 494 meters and an incredible panoramic view of the island and the southeast coast. The race on foot will pass through the old town of Portocolom, passing through some of its beaches before crossing the finish line.
