NEW PLYMOUTH test for Gomez Noya facing the World Series

This sprint triathlon will serve Javier to assess his fitness in the face of the inaugural meeting of the World Beings, the 6 of April in Auckland, and on the Olympic distance.

After a month living in Wanaka (South Island of New Zealand) training with intensity, Javier Gómez Noya disputes on Sunday a scoring triathlon for the World Cup in New Plymouth (west coast of the north island) on Sprint distance (750m swimming, 20km cycling, 5km on foot, half of the Olympic). A competition that will help you assess your fitness in the face of the inaugural meeting of the World Beings, the 6 of April in Auckland, and the Olympic distance.

Although the World Cup is currently the second level circuit below the World Series, in New Plymouth the competition will be tough, since except the Brownlee brothers and South African Murray will be many of the World Series Top10 regulars : "I want to compete in a race with a lot of level and Sprint distance. However, I do not expect to have very good sensations or to be very fast since I will not make the set-up and I will get tired after the intense training in Wanaka. In any case, I hope to be competitive and to be fighting with the best. I know the place since I competed there in 2008 achieving the victory in Olympic distance. Now about half it will be a very fast race in which any error can be paid dearly, so I will try to be attentive and well placed from the start".

It is striking that those who were behind Javi in 2008 are no longer in contention, which is a new sign of the quality of Galician, who six seasons later is still at the top against much younger rivals. The triathlon is held at the 14h on Sunday (2 from the early hours of Saturday to Sunday in Spain) and consists of 1 swimming lap, 5 by bike with urban route and 3 on foot along the promenade in a round-trip format. will allow to have constant references with respect to the rivals.
