Samer Ali Guardia and María Pujol win the Ciudad de Chiclana Triathlon

The organizers and participants have been satisfied with the evolution of the event, which has had a novel location of its departure and finish at the Barceló hotel in the Loma de Sancti Petri urbanization - sponsor of the event - and that took up the Olympic distance after many years of sprint mode. In addition, this edition has meant that the test becomes the longest on the national scene, thus fulfilling its silver anniversary by fulfilling 25 uninterrupted years of annual celebration.

Specifically, it was at 09.30 when the almost 400 participants began to swim 1,5 kilometers, 40 kilometers in bike and finally, 10 kilometres on foot, with the overall winners being Samer Ali Saad and María Pujol in the women's category, both from the ADS Sevilla-Zambrus Bikes club.

The chiclanero Salvador Gil, as well as Pablo González (both of the ADS Sevilla-Zambrus Bikes) were second and third men respectively; and Sonia Vázquez and Jenny Moetefindt (both from the Tri Marbella Bike) did the same in females, according to DIARIO Bahía de Cádiz.

The champions of the other categories were: Patricia Ortega in Junior Female, José Luis Sánchez (Triathlon La Linea 1985) in Junior Male, María Jesús Aguilera (from Vitoria) in Under-23 Female, María Sánchez in Veteranas I, María Angeles Torres ( CD Triatlon Al Andalus) in Veteranas II, Chris Walker (Hercules Triatlon Club) in Veterans I, José Luis Sánchez (Triathlon La Linea 1985) in Veteranos II and Antonio Oña (CT Torremolinos) in Veterans III.

The first of the general, the first three classified in each category and the first three to reach the goal of local origin obtained a trophy. They also received cash prizes from first to fifth overall, all both male and female.

In addition, courtesy of the Hotel Barceló Sancti Petri, the first two of the general received a voucher redeemable for a stay with room and breakfast, while classified in second and third place and the first premises, both male and female won a circuit of spa in the same hotel.

The awards ceremony was chaired by the mayor, Ernesto Marín, who was accompanied by his Councilor for Sports, Diego Rodríguez, as well as Fernando Turnés as director of the Barceló Hotel.

Rodríguez thanked the more than one hundred people from different entities involved in the Triathlon, such as the Local Police, Civil Protection, Red Cross, Civil Guard, Diputación, Andalusian Triathlon Federation, Coca Cola, Faly Bike Cycling Club, ADR Náutica Sancti -Petri, Halcones Gaditanos and Hotel Barceló Sancti Petri.
