PTO Asian Open 2023, the preview.

This weekend a new stage of the PTO Tour will be held with the dispute of the PTO Asian Open 2023.  

Located in the impressive city-state of Singapore, this event will mark the first time the PTO Tour comes to Asia and will be held this August 19 and 20. 

About the event

The race will take place in the iconic Marina Bay, starting with a 2K swim that is likely to be without a wetsuit.  

Athletes will cycle eight laps, starting at the Marina Bay Sands hotel and going through the Singapore Flyer, to complete a total of 80K.  

The race will be decided in an 18K foot race, where they will have to do three laps along the bay.  

With temperatures expected around 30 degrees, high humidity and the possibility of storms, the weather could play a big part in the competition. 

Previous female 

Among the women, all eyes will be on Ashleigh Gentle, Anne Haug, and Lucy Charles-Barclay.  

Gentle will be looking for his first big win in 2023, while Haug will try to reclaim the top spot in the Rankings. 

Charles-Barclay, for his part, will be looking to put in a strong performance in preparation for the rest of his season.

Sara Perez will be our only representative in the test

Previous male 

In the male category, Kristian Blummenfelt will seek his first victory on the PTO Tour, while Gustav Iden He will try to win again. 

Jason West y Sam long They will also be names to follow in an exciting competition and the weather will surely be the fundamental factor in the test.  

Schedule 

The action kicks off with the women's race on Saturday, August 19 at 15:15 local time, 09:15 CET in Spain.  

The men's race will be held on Sunday, August 20, at the same time as the women's.

With a prize pool of $600.000 and the presence of some of the best triathletes in the world, the PTO Asian Open 2023 promises to be an exciting competition, in the style of what was experienced in Ibiza and Milwaukee.
