In case of accident, this helmet calls for you

Specialized will incorporate in its helmets the ANGI sensor that will send your contacts your location

From 2019, all helmets Specialized will be equipped with ANGi or will have a fixing point ready to easily place ANGi

So far, the helmets they only offered protection during an accident. But with the incorporation of MIPS technology and innovative sensor ANGi (Angular and GForce indicator), now Specialized helmets protect before, during and after an accident.

This is because the brand has transformed the modern helmet into a Real-time tracking device, impact detector and a security beacon, that keep you connected to help you when you need it the most.

WHAT IS ANGI?

ANGi is a patented sensor, which is placed in the helmet and that It has an accelerometer and a gyroscope incorporated. Yes, many words, but basically ANGi contains an innovative sensor that measures the forces transmitted to your helmet during an impact. It also measures the damaging rotation forces that occur during accidents in which the helmet receives no real impact.

HOW DOES ANGI WORK?

If the ANGi sensor detects a possible accident during your route, will connect to the Ride app from your smartphone, will sound an alarm and start a countdown.

If you feel well, you simply cancel the countdown and continue riding. However, if you have been injured and can not stop the countdown, The Ride App will send an alert message to your emergency contacts informing them that you may have suffered an accident.

In addition to notifying your contacts that you may have had an accident, ANGi and Ride App will send your location with GPS coordinates to all the contacts that you have included in the Ride application.

WHAT HELMETS INCLUDE ANGI?

Several models of Specialized road, mountain and children helmets come already equipped with the ANGi sensor placed in their adjustment system. These helmets are:

  • HIGHWAY: S-WORKS EVADE II, S-WORKS PREVAIL II, AND PROPERO
  • MONTANA: AMBUSH, AMBUSH COMP, AMBUSH E-BIKE, AND DISSIDENT
  • CHILDREN: SHUFFLE YOUTH LED WITH MIPS + ANGI (DISP. IN FEBRUARY)

The other Specialized 2019 helmets are ANGi-Ready and have a specially designed bracket to quickly and easily place an ANGi sensor purchased as an accessory.

From 2019, all Specialized helmets will be equipped with ANGi or will have a holding point ready to easily position ANGi.

ANGi sensors will also be sold separately at Specialized Distributors, ready to be installed as an accessory on the ANGi-Ready helmets
