400 triathletes in the Ciudad de Santander Triathlon

Javier Gómez Noya will reappear in the Cantabrian capital after a year away from the competition

The Cantabrian capital will host the close Sunday, 10 of September, Santander City Triathlon, an Olympic distance test (1500 meters, 44 km and 10.8 km) that this year celebrates its fifth edition under the organization of Triciclo Team Club Deportivo.

Test officially presented

The Councilor for Sports of the Santander City Council, Beatriz Pellon, and the president of the Tricycle Team Club Deportivo, Enrique Conde, they have presented this morning fourth edition of the test, which also had the presence of the president of the Cantabrian Triathlon Federation, Carlos Cobo placeholder image and the Director of Institutions of Banco Santander, Roberto Garcia-Borbolla, sponsor the test. 
 
Pellón has highlighted the importance of this type of tests to promote sport in the capital and has recognized that the City Council is "delighted" to collaborate, "as it could not be otherwise", where it is combined with the sporting activity itself , the effort with the tourist attraction that it generates, the main objective of this council in the organization of events, and solidarity. 
 
For his part, Enrique Conde has offered all the details of a test that wants to be a sports festival once again, which will once again bring together nearly 400 athletes from all over Spain.

Among them, Javier Gómez Noya, Olympic triathlete, five-time champion of the world and one of the most successful athletes in the recent history of national and international sports. international, which has once again chosen Santander to resume competitions, after a year out due to injuries. 
 
According to Count, “Running with Gómez Noya is a privilege and great luck for the city of Santander, since his presence is synonymous with success and will place the capital in the media spotlight at a national and international level.". 
 
Together with the Galician triathlete, the Ciudad de Santander Triathlon will be attended by of athletes relevant as Helene Alberdi,  Sara Alemany, Pello Osoro, left brothers, lthe risk o Diego Mentrida. 
 
The Ciudad de Santander Triathlon, an Olympic distance test (1500 meters, 44 km and 10 km) will place the start of the test at the Gamazo dam, where it will begin with the swimming segment and where the boxes will also be installed, next to the Festival Palace parking lot.

The test will have 6.000 euros in cash prizesor for the absolute categories, both male and female, in addition to gifts to all participants and several raffles during the course of the event. 
 
The individual and team triathlon will begin at 10:00 a.m. at the Gamazo pier where participants will have to swim 1.5 kilometers in an area marked off with three buoys, and then continue with a 44-mile urban cycling circuit. kilometers and Finally, there will be a 10-kilometer running route that will conclude in the dune of zaera, next to the capital's Sailing School.

The circuits will be closed to traffic and with refreshments at each lap in the case of the running test.

Csolidarity commitment

The Ciudad de Santander Triathlon, which has become a benchmark event in the Cantabrian calendar and the national calendar, will allocate a percentage of the registration of the participants to the Quality in Dependency Foundation, Down Syndrome Foundation of Cantabria and the Cantabria Food Bank. 
 
The challenge is sponsored and collaborated by private companies, as well as the General Directorate of Sports of the Government of Cantabria, CANTUR, the Port Authority, the Santander City Council, through the Municipal Sports Institute, and collaboration in the organization of the Cantabrian Triathlon Federation.  

Asisa Foundation

The Foundation Asisa will present this year the III Award for Sportsmanship and Tranquility in Sports to the athlete corraliega Azara García de los Salmones, one of the best professional trail running runners in the world. 
 
The prize, worth 1.000 euros and which the athlete will donate to an NGO, will be awarded on Saturday the 9th at 19.30:XNUMX p.m., during the event briefing, next to the Duna de zaera.
