All set for the start of the World Triathlon Series in Yokohama

The Triarmada will have 3 triathletes in the test

This next Saturday, May 15, it will be held in Yokohama the first appointment of the Triathlon World Series 2021

This season the circuit will have 5 tests which will end in August with the World Series Grand Final in Edmonton.

This year, the WTS come with news, since it will use a format eliminator of competition in two days at the Montreal and Bermuda Trials.

Favorites

In this first test of the circuit we will not have the presence of Javier Gómez Noya and Mario Mola

The Triarmada will be represented by Fernando Alarza, Antonio Serrat y Miriam Casillas.

In 2019, Fernando was sixth in this test and he will surely return to the competition fighting for victory.

In the male category there will be some of the series' regulars such as Vicent Luis, Jonathan Brownlee, Alex Yee, Jonas Schomburg, Gustav Iden, Kristian Blummenfelt, Henry Schoeman among others.

In the women's event, it will be attended by Katie Zaferes, Taylos Spyvey, Summer Rappaport, Non Standford, Cassandre Beagrand among others.

Distances

The competition will be held on Olympic distance:

  • Swimming: 1.5km (0.75km × 2 laps)
  • Cycling: 40km: (4.45km × 9 laps)
  • Foot race: 10km (2.5km × 4 laps)

The test will be held on Saturday, May 15 at the following times

  • Women's event: 10:16 local time (3:16 AM Spanish time)
  • Men's event: 13:06 local time (06:06 Spanish time)
