4 year sanction for two triathletes, one PRO and another age group in IRONMAN

Both have accepted the sanction

The fight against doping in triathlon does not stop and proof of this is that Today the sanction has been made public for two 4-year-old triathletes.

The sanctioned athletes are the triathlete Ukrainian professional Daniil Sapunov and age group Rodrigo Tavares, from Brazil both have accepted a four year sanction for the violation of anti-doping rules.

The athletes had been provisionally suspended and will not be able to participate in any of the tests of the franchise in a period of four years.

In addition, each athlete has lost all their results obtained after the date of the test, even those of the IRONMAN World Championship 2019

In what substance have they tested positive?

Daniil Sapunov (UKR): The sample collected in Kona has tested positive for EPO. The sanction period began on October 8, 2019

Rodrigo Tavares (BRZ): the samples tested positive for multiple banned substances: clomiphene and androgenic steroids. The Tavares sanction period began on October 7, 2019.
