Ivan Raña seventh in the Ironman 70.3 Budapest

The heat has been the protagonist of the test, the French Bertrand Billard gets the victory

 

Today a new edition of the Ironman 70.3 Budapest was held in the Hungarian capital where there were two Spaniards on the starting line, Iván Raña and Miguel Ángel Fidalgo.

Ivan Raña competed in his first test in the second cycle of preparation for the Ironman World Championship in Kona, where the objective was to take competitive sensations.

The test began at 9:00 in the morning with the 1.900-meter swim in the Danube river, where the Hungarian Balázs Csőke was the first to leave the water, followed by Iván Raña in second position at 5 seconds. Miguel Ángel Fidalgo was seventh, 21 seconds behind the head of the race.

Already on the 90 km cycling sector, Iván Raña did not perform a good sector, dropping places in the classification to reach T2 in seventh position with 7 minutes behind Bertrand Billard (although 3 minutes from the podium positions) that he was the first to reach T2 with 3:20 advantage over the German Hosrt Reichel and the Hungarian Hankó Dávid. For his part, Miguel Ángel Fidalgo had bad luck and had to withdraw from the test due to a puncture. 

Already in the part of career Hosrt made a spectacular comeback, but could not surpass the French Bertrand Billard  I arrive alone to the finish line with following the victory with a time of 3: 41: 11, followed by the German Hosrt Reichel  to only 35 seconds. The third place was for  Ivan Tutukin (3: 45: 05).

Ivan Raña, in a good career sector, he went up some places to finish in the seventh final place with a time of 3: 46: 04.
