Stellar duel at the Ironman Frankfurt with Jan Frodeno and Patrick Lange

Saleta Castro disputes the Ironman of Frankfut with his eyes on Kona

This Sunday a new edition of the Ironman European Championship, riding a Frankfurt, a test that every year brings together many of the best triathletes in the world and with a starting list only surpassed by the Hawaii World Cup.

In female competition, the presence of Saleta Castro, only Spanish PRO in the appointment and looking in your 17 º Ironman to add the maximum points possible for the World Cup in Hawaii.

Two seasons ago he achieved a great 6ª place, a position that this year would leave him at the gates of qualifying for Kona. The great favorite is the current world champion Daniela Ryf, who has been unbeaten in Ironman since Kona 2014 where she was second. The rest of the favorites to the podium and try to break that unbeaten Ryf are Sarah Crowley, current winner of Frankfurt, Laura Phillipp, Anne Haug y Eva Wutti.

As regards the men's competition, Jan Frodeno, winner in Kona in 2016 and 2015 is the main favorite to victory, with an immaculate season of wins. The other great favorite is the current world champion of the specialty, his compatriot Patrick Lange. Everything that is not a triumph of them would be a great surprise. The rest of the favorites to occupy third place on the podium are the Germans Andi Boecherer y Andreas Realert, together with the Swedish Patrik Nilsson and the Austrian Josh Amberger.


The test will start at the 6: 30 with the male PRO exit and two minutes later the PROS women will do it.

It can be followed live through the official Ironman website. It is expected the arrival of the first boy on the 14: 15 and an hour later the first girl.
