40 marathons in 40 days
Chilean marathon runner Matías Anguita broke his own brand: He achieved the challenge of running 40 marathons in 40 days on an urban circuit of 42 kilometers, adding a total of 1.680 kilometers.
Anguita -who the 31 July meets 40 years- not only sought to overcome his own personal record, but also to promote the campaign Reforestemos Patagonia (www.reforestemospatagonia.com) and, by their example, motivate people from all over the world to join their careers and contribute to the planting of native trees in four parks and national reserves of Aysén and Magallanes.
Their effort succeeded in enthusing the citizens, who thanks to their contribution in the donation of trees managed to achieve Anguita goal for the benefit of the campaign reaching the 1.718 donated trees, exceeding the proposed goal of 1.680 trees, one for each kilometer traveled during its challenge.
"What remains to me as a memory was the tremendous support I received from the people, from all the people who felt part of this challenge and shared it with me. It really struck me how the challenge was able to move so many people so positively", Said Matías Anguita.
