40 marathons in 40 days

Chilean marathon runner Matías Anguita broke his own record: He achieved the challenge of running 40 marathons in 40 days on a 42-kilometer urban circuit, totaling 1.680 kilometers.

 

Anguita –who turns 31 on July 40st- not only sought to surpass his own personal record, but also to promote the campaign Reforestemos Patagonia (www.reforestemospatagonia.com) and, with his example, motivate people from all over the world to join his career and contribute to the planting of native trees in four national parks and reserves of Aysén and Magallanes.

His effort succeeded in enthusing the public, who, thanks to his contribution in donating trees, managed to help Anguita meet his goal for the benefit of the campaign, reaching 1.718 donated trees, exceeding the proposed goal of 1.680 trees, one for every kilometer traveled during his journey. challenge.

"What stays with me the most as a memory was the tremendous support I received from the people, from all the people who felt part of this challenge and shared it with me. It really struck me how the challenge was able to move so many people in such a positive way.”, said Matías Anguita.
