XXVIII editions of Club La Santa IRONMAN Lanzarote - The number of registered continues to grow

Near 1.600 participants from more than fifty countries have already formalized the registration

The celebration on Saturday 25 of May of the XXVIII Ironman Lanzarote in Puerto del Carmen, Lanzarote municipality of Tías, monopolizes the interest as always of the fans, since it is the star test of the Canarian triathlon, and one of the leaders of the national and international triathlon.

About 1.600 participants more than fifty countries have already formalized the registration, of the most diverse conditions and origins that will meet their personal challenge and test their resistance in the Ironman Lanzarote considered one of the toughest in the world.

Each participant must swim 3,8 km, travel a demanding circuit of 180,2 km by bicycle and finish with a marathon of 42,2 km to obtain the privilege of being a finisher. The largest share corresponds to Spain, followed by Great Britain and other Western European countries.

The test accommodates quite numerous amateurs and professionals. The first 6 finalists, both male and female in the professional category, will receive a total of 25.000 dollars in prizes. In addition, the Ironman Lanzarote offers 40 places for the Ironman World Championship from Hawaii to the participants by age groups, so it is the ideal opportunity to achieve some of these places. The winner of the PRO category will automatically qualify for the Ironman World Championship in Hawaii.

It is still early to know the list of renowned triathletes that will attend this year, taking into account that some are still in the preparation and set-up period. Registration deadline ends May 1 or until covering the limit provided by the organization at the price of 600 euros
