The siesta time by Felipe Gutiérrez: It's healthy, it's good, it's necessary ...

On this occasion Felipe Gutiérrez talks to us about the importance of initiating the smallest in the world of sports

A few days ago, the World Day of Physical Activity, specifically on Monday 6 of April. A day in which the population is invited to perform a physical activity ... and I wonder: what's the use?

Those of us who are the first promotions of INEF have been trying for a few years that physical activity, sports have "many days" and have value for society ... in which we include schools.

And our society will fill their mouth saying that we do "running", that we belong to a club of "running", or that they have shoes, tights and technical shirts of the last wave of "running". With how easy it is to call it running to the superguay, running. I'm going to run! Without more ..., at least something they do.

Now even in many sports stores they set up their career groups and run, business is business.

It is also necessary all this paraphernalia, the same as the triathlon boom and the arrival in the mansalva of people who want to do the long distance, some people with little physical basis because even in their school never or little sport they have managed to do, they want to run a distance ironman, want to be a finisher and walk the shirt of this or that event. No doubt everything is fine, but the problem is not there ... and I wonder And what children?

As it is possible that the same children of those "runners" do not practice sports or do little.

How is it possible that schools do not yet have at least 1 hour of Physical Education and daily sports? How is it possible that we have to do extracurricular activities so that children can pay for a sports activity? that the Ministry of Education and its Superior Council of Sports do not pay attention to the graduates of Physical Education ?, How it is possible that we ask for medals in some JJ..OO and while nobody ignores the base, our children ...

I guess we all agree that Physical Activity is HEALTHY, GOOD AND NECESSARY, even if you do not have a world day.

Last weekend I was in the Duathlon of Santander, some criticize the Cantabrian Federation for their events, but in this case I praise them for the tests they do for children, for the little ones. You do not need to have a great competition structure, nor do you need big circuits, if you need people that you like and that support the sport of the little ones.

There we have seen the illusion of the kids, the desire to finish the test, the innocence of the competition, where all they want is to finish, take the test and reach the goal.

The truth is that this type of tests, I repeat without large structures, not only made children enjoy but also the daddies and that some also followed the test dressed duatleta because in the end they, the daddies, also competed.

Honestly with observing and seeing the faces of that small, if I can say that the Cantabrian Federation makes the illusions and the future of these athletes to take hold in those who come to our sport.

Surely some criticize and say it was fatal, that, ... but with only criticism is not worth it, you have to contribute and possibly in your town, city, club or team can begin to "make live" the sport to the little ones

Surely they will realize that it is IT IS HEALTHY, IT IS GOOD, IT IS NECESSARY ...

Today in my nap I have dreamed that very soon there will be no World Physical Activity Day, that it is no longer necessary and that the spirit of sport will be promoted from children. Triathlon can be a spearhead, let's take advantage of it and start with those closest to us… .then we will dream of the competition again, with Gomez Noya, Iván Raña, Mario Mola…And some others.
