A few months ago a person told me: You who have been in this world for years, Do not you think it would be good to create an Association of Triathletes?

I clearly tell you that this association is complicated due to the numerous interests of each one and the great variety of levels, good proof of this, I comment, and this I already wrote in his day, the representatives of the athletes in the assembly or go, some already resigned, and others ... good hard I see it.

This summer always encourages people to suggest new ideas and a few weeks ago I received an email from a very important person in the world of triathlon and with a very active club and with the concern that more or less we all have when we are running a club or group of athletes.

I'm going to put the email here, obviously omitting the signatory but so you can see what I get from time to time.

"Hi Felipe, forgive me for sending you an email to tell you this, although I would like to speak with you in person.

You know very well how the clubs work and I think it would be interesting to have an exchange of ideas, if you like, and even see the possibility of talking about the possible creation of a Triathlon Club Association

Well, you tell me what your availability is in order to have that meeting.

Obviously I answer him.

"Hello X: for me there is no problem to meet with you and with those that you think may be interested. I think that creating this Association could be interesting to work for triathlon clubs, but always under the perspective of not going against anyone, or anything, at least a priori.

Well, it's been a while and less than a month ago we met and we see that possibility of convening the clubs in Spain and inviting them to be in an association where they feel more and better represented than in an annual Assembly where the debates are sometimes quite "controlled" and with support for the established power and to which they turn "The elect" democratically.

Some of the clubs that represent us in that assembly do not even care, for example, the ranking of clubs or the league. They are clubs that "took the vote" on a silver platter. Favors are favors ... It's like a chain of favors.

Many subjects were discussed, almost all are frequently in social networks, in the complaints of some people, in short it would be to create an Association or call it as you want that can be in contact with the relevant organizations for the sake of a collective that includes another great collective that are the triathletes.

I do not know if it will start, if it will work, if there is a desire to launch it forward and see if on the part of the Federations, both national and regional, change everything and "respect" these groups. Not everything goes, the clubs invest a lot of time and money and sometimes without even receiving a "pat on the back" of recognition for the work.

The clubs are increasingly separated from what is some tests and almost do not respect the federative actions, as they also see that there is a broad field where they can operate without having to rely on these tests of the federations.

What is clear is that federations can lose their main "clients" if what they do is reluctantly and they have to comply. The "goose that lays the golden eggs" can go elsewhere.

Elections are coming in a short time and this could be a determining factor that overturns the panorama of new candidates and future presidents.

Clubs should demand and stop asking, which is clear that some will continue to ask them to give them "something" or nothing ... in exchange for their support.

Things can start to change, I at least bet on that change. If as a club you want to be in this move you just have to send me an email as much as if you are interested as if you think otherwise and think that the best thing is to "keep going" and that's it.

At the moment Wednesday afternoon is the time to stick an eye, even if it's a few minutes ... I'll probably wake up with new ideas and wanting to "move the room".
